About BROOK & HUNTER
We wanted to build an unmatched, world-class set of garden tools; this is how we did it.
The tools would need to have a unique design and be capable of standing up to rigorous use. They would require very little maintenance yet be built to last substantially longer than other tools on the market. They would need to do all this and remain affordable. But most importantly, they would need to be treasured by the gardeners that use them.
This development would take us a thousand years into the past. We would trace the lines of evolution and innovation from generations of laborers, farmers, and gardeners to create a time-tested and well-refined design. The tool would be a natural extension of the human form, fitting perfectly into the hand.
The blade would be strong, smooth, and efficient—something simple yet elegant. We would need blade shapes that could accommodate the different sizes, ages, and genders of gardeners. We would start with the traditions and knowledge of the past and adapt them to the modern gardener. Locally designed and sold in San Diego.

DY-Handle Garden Tools | 41” to 45” Inches
For the handle, we’d need extremely dense wood. A wood that is readily available and recognized by craftsmen as strong and durable. It would be solid enough for flooring and as structural support in construction. We’d then need to find a way to shape this dense wood into a D-handle and implement a finishing method subtle enough to preserve its feel. We’d need to use great care and patience to maintain the materials' natural shape, beauty, and strength.
Hand-Crafted Red Oak Handles | Polyurethane Coatings | 27 Production Days
We’d also need a tremendously strong material for the blade. It would require a smooth surface to ensure ease of use in the garden with durability to match. We want unparalleled quality that guarantees years of faithful service to its owner. If the material were also beautiful, all the better. We want something tested in the most extreme conditions.
Premium Stainless-Steel Blades | Polished Finish
Of course, we’d want assurances the tools could provide the kind of world-class performance we need. We’d look for a product with a track record built on years of refinement and perfecting a process. We’d need to know they have been proven in other markets before introducing them to domestic customers.
13 Successful Years Globally | Over 9 Million Handles Made | Recently Unveiled In The USA
Finally, we would need a way to tell the story of these tools to our customers. We want more than just a conventional sales team. We want storytellers, individuals well-known and respected by avid gardeners and industry professionals.
BROOK & HUNTER Sales Team
Imagine we could build this series of tools. Products tested and refined for years but only recently unveiled in the United States marketplace. If we could do this, the potential for expansion would be limitless.
